- Our aim is to do outreach to local community schools serving at inner city youth. To bring awareness to opportunities for inner city youth with interest in performing arts.
Skill Development Workshops
Our main goal for the I Want to Act Foundation is to provide to inner city youth opportunities to increase their knowledge and skills of the Arts & Entertainment industries as well as the skills necessary to become an actor.
Our program curriculum includes subjects, such as:
- Life Skills (time management, professionalism etc…)
- Career Preparation (job/agent search, acting and audition techniques for television and film, and dressing for success)
- Academic (reading skills, tutoring, etc…)
What makes the I Want to Act Foundation special are the youth who come from all walks of life. Our current participants come from juvenile centers, foster homes, or underprivileged poverty stricken homes. Their determination and commitment to better themselves is reflected in their voluntary signing up for the I Want to Act Foundation.
We engage smart willing youth who are enthusiastic about wanting to learn the skills, and all have a burning desire to make positive changes in their lives by taking the proper steps now to make a change for their future.
I Want to Act Foundation aims to provide support groups that will encourage discussion of behavior and self-esteem. Our goal is to strengthen values and enhance the quality of everyday life. Through partnerships with volunteer mentors we will assist inner city youth in using learned practices in performing arts to improve behavior and self-esteem.
